Required Reading

You can purchase many of the required books on the IHTP Reading List at the playharp.com online shop, such as the required volumes Cradle of Sound – Harp Therapy Manual book and the Illuminations Healing Music book.

We are currently amending this list to suit the Australian Affiliation, but any of the books on this list may be used as part of the prescribed books. Non-native English speaking students:  If you have any books that you feel would support this list, please supply the ISBN and other information, so that we can evaluate the book and give credit or even add it to the list or accredited publications. We are currently compiling reading lists as part of our restructuring Harp Therapy for the World. Many publications are now available in your own language including the the following subjects: TA Today (A text on transactional analysis, a required text) Psychology and Counseling, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, Music Therapy, Ethics, Empathic Listening, Vibrational Medicine and others.

1. You will select 5 ‘elective’ books of your own to read and review. A list of recommended books is available here. You may also select a book that is not on this list, but check with your mentor first to see if the book is appropriate.

To recap, you will be writing an ongoing review of the course text Cradle of Sound. You will write a maximum of one page for each starred item above (5), plus your five elected texts (totaling 10 book reviews at the end of your program). You will be reminded of all of this in your Unit lessons.
